Groov* Kitchen/Bath/Plumbing

PERFORMS AND LASTS LIKE SILICONE

Just like 100 percent silicone, Groov caulk is permanently waterproof and will never shrink, crack, or deteriorate over time. Moisture, soap scum, humidity, and repeated water exposure can take a toll on sinks, tubs, and showers. You need a caulk that, regardless of these conditions, will remain as waterproof, flexible, and durable as the day you first apply it. Groov caulk is impervious to water, meaning water can't get through it and will never break it down. When caulk doesn't perform in this way, the moisture from water and humidity can attack it and break it down. And, when an area repeatedly changes from wet to dry, water-based caulk, like acrylic, can degrade more rapidly. Its cracking may accelerate and its ability to adhere to a surface can lessen. When caulk dries out, shrinks, or cracks, gaps may form, which can lead to water damage and mold growth.

EASY TO APPLY AND PAINT LIKE ACRYLIC

Groov caulk is easy to apply and tool like acrylic, and it's paintable. The texture of Groov is smooth like an acrylic's, without being sticky or stringy, making it easier to get a professional-looking finish. And, the texture makes it less difficult to keep caulk in the joint rather than on hands and surrounding surfaces, which creates the dreaded mess. Its ability to stay put in the joint is particularly important in kitchens and baths where you might have costly surfaces such as granite and marble that you might want to protect from stray caulk.

Performs and lasts like silicone: Cured caulk performs and lasts like silicone over the service temperature of
-30°F to 150°F. Cured caulk will not shrink, crack, or break down. Application above 40°F is recommended for best results.

One-hour shower-ready: Exposure to water possible in as little as one hour with maximum bead size of 3/16", temperature minimum 65°F, minimum humidity 50 percent. Otherwise, caulk should not be exposed to water for eight hours. Do not touch for 24 hours, unless applying paint (see below).

Five-year mold-free product protection: Cured sealant is mold and mildew resistant. Regular cleaning of the cured sealant is required, however, as soap and other residue can cause secondary mold and mildew growth.

30-minute paint-ready: Caulk can be spray painted immediately, or brush painted and roller painted in as little as 30 minutes with maximum bead size of 3/16", temperature minimum 65°F, minimum humidity 50 percent. Otherwise, caulk should not be painted for three hours. Apply paint with reduced applicator pressure to avoid disturbing the caulk.

Don't Waste Time and Energy

Not all caulk is the same. Because silicone is permanently waterproof, flexible, and shrink-/crack-proof, unlike acrylic, it won't leave gaps or cracks for air and water to seep through over time. Those leaks can lead to water damage, mold growth, and higher energy bills—all of which can translate into your lost time (when you have to do the job again), lost energy, and lost money.
